The Human League played to a packed crowd in Cork last night. Murphy’s sponsored the event as part of their Little Big Nights Out promotion so there was plenty of the black stuff drunk. I still have my voucher if anyone wants it?
The band played most of their hits, mixing in songs I’ve never heard as I’ve never bought any of their albums. Still, it was surreal hearing them sing Don’t you want me and other songs that synonymous with 80′s music!
Yes girls, there’ll be a picture of Phil Oakley in a few days time …

So I got a new pair of runners recently; VIVOBAREFOOT Evo. A pair of runners with a difference. And then some. VIVOBAREFOOT are what you call minimalist running shoes; extremely thin, lightweight runners that are meant to be “as close to going barefoot as you can.” They’re part of the barefoot movement and running community.
Modern running shoes are like a barge around your feet, disconnecting them from the ground in many ways. Runners like VIVOBAREFOOT are the opposite; you feel more and your feet are strengthened, stimulated more and you also exercise your
calves, thighs, gluts, the lower back and abdomen, increasing your core strength.
Flexible, breathable and light- 1 shoe weighs about 220grams, compared to 440grams for a Nike Zoom Zomero, which is half the weight!

Cadiz is a city and port in the Iberian Peninsula in Spain. The centre of the city is filled with old alleys and narrow streets. Here’s I shot straight upwards at the junction of 4 such alleys, I think it was here near the local cathedral.
Many years ago I took a similar photo of buildings in San Francisco.

The stripping room
The abandoned building we visited last weekend has been stripped bare over the years. The copper hunters were busy and turned this room into on of their workshops. The floor was strewn with the rubber casing left behind after the boys removed the valuable copper.
Anyway, thought I’d use this title to grab your attention :-) It’s not what you thought it was going to be……..

You only have one life.
Smile.
Laugh.
Be a child again.
Enjoy it, don’t take everything so seriously all the time.
Stop and smell the flowers, appreciate what you have.
Here’s some random photographs that make me smile.

This is how Conor (2 years young) smiles. There’s nothing wrong with him, it’s just his funny smile…

There’s rough ground next to the Opera House in Reykjavik, Iceland and what looks like reclaimation efforts nearby. This excavator, shovel and anchor are just left there next to parked cars. The snow covers the dark volcanic earth.

Wherever I lay my hat....
Another shot from our trip to an abandoned army barracks. One of the sheds is being used either by some poor unfortunate as a dry place to sleep, or it’s a temporary den of iniquity for local teenagers. Not sure which, but I wouldn’t fancy spending a night here.
