Healy Pass

This blog has been neglected recently but hopefully I’ll be in a position to keep it updated more often again soon.

A week or two ago I went to Cork to take part in the Rebel Tour cycle, part of the An Post series, though I’d done the Ring of Kerry which is longer this one was going to be by far the hardest I’d attempted since I had taken up my daughters challenge to get fitter and lose some weight, I wasn’t too worried about the distance, 160km, but the combination of that and the climbing was going to be a big test especially the fact that we had to cross this Pass twice with the last ascent at 135km. I won’t say it was easy (if it was everyone would do it!!!) but I did manage to get around and really enjoyed the day, in fact the scenery on the circuit inspired me to root the camera out of the boot of the car and go shooting the next day, when I took this shot. The road we came up is visible on the right.
