We’ve just adopted these two little guys from the pound. The white one above is Otto and this dark little fella below is Knuckles. We gave Knuckles his name to give him extra confidence as someone had left him alone tied to a tree and he was lacking a little bit. He seems to have gotten it back already though and is ruling our household.

Last Sunday, myself and Jason went along to the Battle Of The Boyne site near Drogheda as part of the lovely Peter Donegan’s Garden Group. This is the third outing that Peter has organised and it was great as always. The Battle Of The Boyne site is run by the Office Of Public Works and it is set in spectacular surroundings. There are walkways, picnic tables, living history performances and a visitor centre with information about the Battle and its history.
We were blessed with the weather and our guides Aisling and Paul from the OPW brought us around the gardens to show us the mammoth task they are undertaking in restoring the grounds and buildings. I also REALLY enjoyed the living history performances which take place every weekend.
If you haven’t been to the Battle Of The Boyne site, I can highly recommend it. You can see more of my living history photographs here and a few pics taken around the grounds here.

The Harbour Pub is a purveyor of very fine Guinness, amongst other things.

The big, gorgeous sloppy face of a cow in a field near our house. I think I came close to have a lens salived to death here.

These pictures were taken at the funfair in Portrush. The menfolk decided to have a go on the “Freak Out”. I felt sick just looking at it. That’s our friend Michael looking cool as a cucumber.

Jason, directly over my head and upside down, pretending to be as cool as a cucumber.

The sickening apparatus in full swing.

Just chatted to these two gents long enough to persuade them to sit still for a portrait snap, but not long enough to catch their names.

I’ve been in Portrush in Northern Ireland for a couple of days visiting friends. Yesterday the sun was splitting the stones and I took a walk through the town “shooting from the hip”. As you can see from the cropped and missing heads I haven’t quite mastered it yet, but I like the idea of taking photographs of people going about their everyday business so more practice required.
