Figmentation: Temple Bar

§ March 7th, 2009

Temple Bar area in Dublin on Friday night. The area is very popular with tourists as there are lots of 'genuine Irish pubs' and restaurants. This was early in the night, later on it was very busy. I wish I'd got lower down now to get in more of the lights in the wet paving stones.

Figmentation: Ronda gorge

§ March 6th, 2009

A view of the gorge that splits the Andalucian town of Ronda in two. It is 100M deep. At the bottom you can just make out the remains of the baths that the Moors built in the 12th century.

Figmentation: Juxtaposition

§ March 2nd, 2009

Old and new together in Manchester, England.

Figmentation: Graffiti

§ February 28th, 2009

Graffit on wall in Dublin. The wall seems to have been used more than once. I'm not sure about the Gary Coleman reference.

Figmentation: O’Connell Bridge

§ February 22nd, 2009

Dublin again, looking towards D'Olier St in between the two buildings. The coach on the left is just about to start crossing O'Connell Bridge. Handheld for 1.6 seconds, braced on a railing.

Figmentation: Canal lock

§ February 20th, 2009

A lock on the canal near Naas, taken this morning on the way home from work.

Figmentation: Westin Hotel

§ February 18th, 2009

I was in Dublin collecting photographs for a small project I have in mind, when I saw the Westin hotel in the dusk. I am a sucker for photos like this. In other news, I didn't make the final list, but there's always next year...

Figmentation: Reflection

§ February 17th, 2009

Not too inspiring, but it's late....

Figmentation: Red light, white light

§ February 12th, 2009

Commuter traffic on the N7 on wednesday morning. The red lights are heading to Dublin and the white ones towards Naas, Newbridge and beyond.

Figmentation: Liffey weir

§ February 9th, 2009

The weir on the Liffey in Athgarvan. I'm not really happy with this, because of the washed out sky, but I like the way the water came out. I will try and go there in the morning one day to see if the light is any better. Behind me and to the right in the photo is an old mill with a disused water wheel.
