Emer's graduation from Maynooth

Right, college is over, let the fun begin.....

So now what’s in store for our daughter? She’s just graduated from NUI Maynooth with a degree in something that ends in …ology so that must be good. There was a time not so long ago when that meant a good job was in the pipeline, but not any more. At least with her decent education she’ll be able to understand all the forms at the dole office.

Aside form the doom and gloom, we had a great day in Maynooth for her graduation. The weather held up and the college itself is really beautiful. You could spend a day in there photographing the buildings and the grounds. The chapel is particularly beautiful as are the cloisters and they’d make a fantastic backdrop for any shoot.

I took this shot outside in the huge courtyard and after three attempts managed to get a keeper. Difficult enough when the place is packed and random strangers with the brightest of red jackets are determined to get into the frame. It’s at time like these my other passion comes in handy!

Better Days
Better days: Inch beach last weekend with blue skies and just enough wispy clouds to be interesting.

The Little Egret used to be a very rare sight in the west of Ireland but now they are quite common due to the gradual increase in climate temperature. This one is part of a family nesting between Rusheen Bay and Silver Strand in Galway.
