On Saturday we went to Martina and Liam’s wedding. The bride was beautiful, the groom was lovely, the weather was fantastic and the company was superb. All in all it was a very happy day.

Barry Somers: Coming Soon To Dublin?

I've been an Apple mac user since I purchased my MacBook in Las Vegas back in May 2007, I've always loved the look and feel of Apple Stores I've visited throughout the world including this one I visited in San Francisco which is a two level store build right over the subway entrance.Perhaps some day soon Dublin might be lucky enough to get one just like it.....or atleast we can hope.

Iced Coffee: Curzon

A model of the old Curzon cinema and an Ulsterbus on the Ormeau Road.
It opened in 1936 and closed in 1999 due to competition from the more expensive and larger multiplexes.
In 2003 it was demolished and apartments were built on the site. These have only been completed in the last year. Many are still empty, as are the shops on the ground floor.

Here’s a before photograph from 2003, it may have been closed at this time.
And this is how the apartments look now (or when the Google car was about, it doesn’t look much different now really.

Red Mum: Passport queues

There was a massive queue waiting on the passport office this morning, stretching back to the Freemason’s building on Molesworth Street, just after I took the pic, they were beginning to move in.
