Barry Somers: The Hat Man

§ March 31st, 2010

No he's not some sort of superhero...although perhaps that could be his other job, he is however one of the many street traders in Galway City around Shop Street. I'm disappointed I didn't pick up a nice new Trilby for myself.Shot during the Galway Photowalk.

EyeBlinks: The Letter

§ March 31st, 2010

Taken at the St. Patrick's Day Parade in NYC. I became fascinated with the letter sticking out of her pocket. Was it something she was about to post home maybe or post she had just received from Ireland? I'll never know! A Tribute to Diane Arbus.

Galway Photowalk

Sitting pretty......

Another one from the Galway photowalk last Saturday. At the time it didn’t look too out of place but when you look closely, he’s sitting on a bollard! Now, that can’t be the most comfortable of places, especially if you’re there for a long time. All I can say is, fair play to him – mind you he did seem to reach quite a lot of high notes while he was playing!

Peter Cox: Timelapse Photography

§ March 30th, 2010

I've been working on timelapses a lot lately, and figured it was time to share some of the results I've been getting.

Mourne Mountains & Port Moon Timelapse from Peter Cox on Vimeo.

I hope you enjoy it! This was made from two separate trips to Northern Ireland.

Darren Greene: swans

§ March 30th, 2010

I've never posted a swan photo before so feel I felt obliged to do so. Taken on a lough somewhere in Sligo over the weekend. I can't remember the exact place. This is another one with the Holga lens on my D700.

Red Mum: Queues (again) at passport office

§ March 30th, 2010

Yesterday morning the queues at the passport office nearly stretched to the bottom of the street again which must have been particularly gloomy/nasty for those waiting given the cold and wet weather. There wasn’t a queue this morning, I’m not sure why, maybe they were let in earlier because of the snowy weather. (And following the beautiful weather we had over the weekend last night’s snow is mad – its April in two day FFS.)
