019/365 For todays Project365 photo, a few of us decided to take photos of a specific subject. I choose the theme this week as “button”. I chose this for two reasons. Firstly, I thought it was a nice easy subject to start wirh. But my second reason was because it could be interpreted a number of different ways - a coat button, a button on a remote control or even a button mushroom!
I had a couple of ideas but eventually went for a combined self-portrait.
I wish I’d been a little more inventive… maybe next week! If you would like to take part in Tuesday Chooseday (it started as an aside to the Project365 but you don’t neccesarily have to be undertaking your own project to take part), there is now a group over on Flickr. It would be great to get a bit of a community up and running over there so please join and provide us with some more ideas for next weeks theme.

This is a welcome break from all of the Winter photos I've been posting! This was taken on Saturday at a strobist meet. However the natural light was so amazing that we all ditched the strobes at one stage or another.

This new bridge across the Liffey in Dublin was opened on 10th December 2009. This picture was taken on a very cold night a couple of weeks later.

Another from Christmas Morning 2009 on the Curragh; a detail of hedgerow along the edge of the Curragh, Co Kildare. Frosted in the freezing morning air the entire hedge was a confection of brittle white beauty.

Sunday, woke up, not sure what to do, decided to get up out of bed, go into town with my camera and decide what to do then, decided to take the dart to Howth. It was after all a beautiful day. I was brought up to the summit by a good friend Ruth to take photos of the lighthouse and on heading back from the hill I took this sneaky photo of hill walkers in front of us! I dunno I know its dark and what not but I actually really like it for some weird reason, maybe its my mood today or something.

Taken at Ellis Island

As part of our honeymoon cruise we stopped in Haiti back in September, what we thought was a proper visit turned out to be a private beach rented by the cruise operator by the government.
While the parts of the island we saw were beautiful the whole time we were there just didn't sit well with us because we always wondered how much the locals were being paid and from talking to them we knew alot of changes had to be made.
We learned a fair bit about Haitian history and we also explained a fair bit of Irelands to one of the Haitians we got talking to.
