§ January 3rd, 2010

003/365 The Christmas tree came down today along with all of the decorations, the house looks rather empty now!

Iced Coffee: The Snow Lay Then

§ January 3rd, 2010

snow tree

Everywhere else has had a lot of snow recently and with much more due over the next few days and here in Northern Ireland (around Belfast at least), there’s been hardly any snow, certainly since the ’snow day’ on 20th Dec. With a lot more snow due in England and the South of Ireland, all I ask is for just a little more here so I can take some pretty photos.
Please.

Will Knott: Frozen Thyme

§ January 3rd, 2010

Yes, I love puns. Even bad puns. Something based on “Frozen in Thyme” would have been better, but you can’t have everything.

Frozen Thyme

Of course, part of me is wondering if the flavour will be effected when it thaws out.

And thus ends my catching up. For now anyway.

Barry Somers: Hear the music

§ January 3rd, 2010

Shot just before Olly Murs took the stage during his recent visit to Waterford, Ireland. I'm not sure of the name of the band but they were pretty damn good in my books and I hope they get a good few more gigs.

Will Knott: 365 slipup

§ January 3rd, 2010

The phrase “start as you mean to go on” should be ignored here. The plan for a project365 type photoblog is to post (at least) once a day.  Well I’ve slipped up.

So here is an icy path.

Icy Path

I’m not too sure if those bumps are just  meant to help the visually impaired. Because for some reason, these flagstones seem to hold moisture long enough to become a walking hazard.

Will Knott: Blue Skies Thinking

§ January 3rd, 2010

So its 2010 and as usual people think about resolutions.

Some people are resolving to loose weight and report on how they are doing (Hi Pat). Me, well as much as I’d like to do that, my preferred method involves a bike, and while I’ve gotten some great photos on bike rides, the routes are more for training than for getting posts.

Instead I’ve looked at the 365 photo projects, and I’m going to try for it.

My rules are…

  1. Catch ups are allowed (heck they are necessary). I’m already behind
  2. Catch forwards are allowed. My net access isn’t the best, so scheduling posts will be necessary.
  3. Old photos are not allowed. Only those taken in 2010. That won’t stop other shots appearing here.
  4. No processing other than cropping. This is really to stop me delaying too long. Processed shots might show show up if they are really good. However it will encourage me to upload… which is the major battle right now.
  5. I will take requests. I actually have an idea for a shot, but that’s another story (besides, I’ll need more cat 5 cabling)

And so  to begin, here are some very cold blue skies.
