Eclectic images: I’m a skyscraper

§ December 9th, 2009

I can hear the sound Of the North Star calling Put your high beams on Stay on my wing I'm falling And spinning and turning This is ultra-glide The beginnings of great things Cannot be seen By your naked eye Can you see me kow crack the skies like lightnin' Mama's little sonic boom Is simply frighteninig I'm a skyscraper Float like a buttuerfly Acrobatic Sting like a B-52 Dramatic And the radar locks on you No static Can I reach it now I'm not up here often God only knows And he ain!t talkin' I'm a skyscraper.

Peter Cox: Attempted Visit to Inishtearaght

§ December 9th, 2009

I was supposed to be spending the evening on Inishtearaght (Inis Tiaracht) tonight, the most westerly of the Blasket Islands and the most westerly point in Europe, Iceland excepted. However, the winds were not conducive to a landing so after a couple of dummy passes to assess the conditions we returned to Castletownbere. I also discovered that I didn't have a wide enough lens mounted on the camera, but that notwithstanding I did get a halfway decent photograph of the island showing its very forbidding character.
Going to try again tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

Stormy Sea at Brittas Bay, Wicklow, Ireland Beach

This is a beautifully strong shot taken in Brittas Bay, County Wicklow, Ireland. It shows some of the natural elements at their best, stunning photo. This was taken on Monday at our ‘Sand’ themed photo shoot. The light that day was so changeable and dynamic, it was amazing.
