Figmentation: Garden collage

I know I said I'd be gone for awhile, but here I am again....inspired by the sunshine I think. Fingers crossed only 9 days until we move out.

The late Dick Copithorne was Belgooly Athletic club president until his sudden death in 2003 and just outside the village is a public bench with this plague on it in his memory.
December 20th: Christmas Road Races
…. On Sunday (St Stephens Day) the Belgooly 4 mile Road Race will be held. This is a very popular road race, always attracting a big crowd including many American based athletes home for Christmas. Last year the race winners were Martin McCarthy and Carmel Parnell of Leevale but last years sadly will be remembered for the sudden death of Belgooly Athletic club president Dick Copithorne while watching the finish of the race. His family are sponsoring the race this year and part of the entry fee will go to Bowel Cancer Research in the CUH. Race headquarters are in Belgooly GAA and the race starts at 12pm.
…..January 10th – Belgooly 4 Prize Giving
Presentations of Prizes for the Belgooly 4 held on Dec 26th 2003 will take place in the Viaduct Inn, Bishopstown at 8pm on Wednesday, January 14th. Prizegiving on the day of the race had to postponed due to the sudden death of Belgooly club president Dick Copithorne. ….
The local club even runs a memorial race each year. What a wonderful way to remember a man obviously loved by his local community.

Just a quick reminder that there will be a photowalk this Saturday in Dublin, hopefully taking in the sights of Windmill Lane, the Samuel Beckett Bridge, Bolands Mill, Grand Canal Dock and Trinity College.

It would be great if you could leave a comment below to let me know if you are coming or, alternatively, join the facebook group - we wouldn’t want to leave without you!
Also, if you have any ideas for other locations we should visit along the way, please add them to the comments.
So here are the all important details:
If you aren’t able to make the walk then please join us in the pub later in the evening - should be a great day!
As an added bonus, a few of us are also going to try and take some long-exposure night shots on the Friday evening. The plan is to meet at Kate’s Cottage at 8pm and head on from there. Don’t forget your tripod!
I have a bit of a soft spot for sun flare. It can ruin a photo if it’s unnecessary and distracting from the rest of the image, but if you make the photo about the flare, sometimes it can work. Of course, an essential ingredient in sun flare is, suprisingly, sun, something we don’t exactly get in great abundance. So it’s nice to take advantage of it when it comes!

Had a few games of Connect 4 with Andy in The Garrick Bar yesterday evening. I lost. Still a lovely way to spend an evening.
Its not very often that you get to appreciate the sundial in Ireland! Fortunately we have been treated to clear blue skies over the past few days.
