The Almond Croissant Diaries: Spot the difference!
I just came across a photograph of my sister on facebook and I immediately did a double-take - maybe it’s just me but I was struck how similar she looked to me in this particular photo. Many people have commented how similar we look but I never really saw it… until now! She normally wears her hair up and, unless she straightens it, has very curly hair - this photo, with her hair down, straightened and with her new (or newly accented) fringe make the two photos below scarily similar - can you spot the difference?!
And Jen, if you’re reading - I’m sorry!!!

The Almond Croissant Diaries: Bank Holiday
What a beautiful bank holiday weekend it has been. And there has been so much going on. I am currently sorting through a backlog of photos from the Botanic Gardens and the Maritime Festival so please bear with me for a couple of days. Lots of photos to come though, I promise!

Puffin Island (Oileán na gCánóg in Irish) is an uninhabited steep rocky island lying off the coast of the Iveragh Peninsula, County Kerry, Ireland. The island is about 1.5 km long and 0.7 km wide, and rises to 159 metres. It is separated from the mainland by Puffin Sound, which is only about 250 metres across. Puffin Island holds important populations of several seabird species, including Atlantic Puffins, Manx Shearwaters and European Storm-petrels, and was acquired as a nature reserve by the Irish Wildbird Conservancy (now BirdWatch Ireland) in the early 1980s. The island also has some signs of ancient human habitation, and it has attracted the interest of archaeologists.

Hot off the Memory Card: Yellow Rays
Sunset at Garretstown. The previous day had been clear and the sunset unimpressive. It's interesting to see how much more powerful a bit of cloud on the horizon made this sunset.

I love lines in images so I had to take this shot. It was taken at the same spot as this Allihies photo. What a beautiful day that was!

Figmentation: Cool regard
Two horses with their new arrivals at a local stud farm. I had to shoot through a fairly thick screen of trees, hence the border of leaves. My posting is going to be even more sporadic than normal as I will be moving house shortly. My internet connection will go and I will be busy sorting out the move, so I will just not have time for this. See you in about two months or so....
