Public Seating

Plastic seats outside a house, near yesterday’s home I think.

We went for a walk this evening by the reservoir in Inniscarra and I got some nice shots of my family and of the setting sun over the water. Unfortunately when I got home a number of shots were corrupted. I’m not sure why or how, but I’ll have to set aside some time this week to test the card. It’s brand new, only bought a few months ago when I bought the Canon 40D. Grrr.

The Almond Croissant Diaries: Seth Lakeman @ The Academy

§ November 16th, 2008

Seth Lakeman was fantastic last night. I haven’t danced so much in a loooong time!

The support act was Dan Donnelly, a guy originally from Belfast with tunes sounding very Beatle-esque. Despite breaking a string and having to borrow Sean’s guitar, he kept us entertained for a good half hour, finishing with a fun comedic song about being arrested!

By the time Seth took to the stage, the audience had swelled, although there was still enough room down the front to dance. In fact, I probably danced a little too much (if thats possible!). It was great fun though.

Mulley.ie has been launched. Another blog? Does he have a time-stopping device??

Timing is everything. An obedient and patient dog helps.

Northern Irish Accent is sexy??

Awesome photographs from the 1930s-40s in colour.

I loved dot-dots as a kid.

Hmm Fetus.

Cool new commemorative Dutch €5 coin, and how it was made.

Cheeky dog. Hot dog.

Seriously, I’m really into typography right now:

No communion for Obama supporters. Seriously church, WTF?

Oh look, I don’t have to worry about this stuff any more with my Mac…

I watched the first season of Mad Men last 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed it - the Simpsons did a great parody of the title sequence:

Kyle Tunney Photography: Boards Photography Book - Santa Strike Force

§ November 16th, 2008

As some of you may know I’m always buzzing around the boards.ie photography forum. Every so often I’ll pop up an image for C&C (comments and critique) or share my feelings on somebody elses photos. If you are new to photography and are wondering how you could have taken a photo better of just want some general advise, you won’t get a better bunch of people to help you out. The standard on the forum is quite high and I often find myself saving some photos into my Inspiration folder.

Well this year it was suggested that we put a book together and that anybody interested could have their choosen photo included. Also every book sold would donate €5 to the charity Santa Strike Force. So it was a no brainer to pop one of my images in there.

There is a preview of the book online here. If you like what you see, order the book now on blurb.

Remember, for every book sold a donation is made to the Santa Strike Force!

A big thanks goes out to Vlastik for all the organising he did, whyulittle for designing the book and of course to everbody else on boards who contributed to such a worthy cause!
